Ricky Bluthenthal, PhD Dean of Graduate Studies and Research (interim) Director, Urban Community Research Center Professor, Sociology Department California State University Dominguez Hills Dr. Bluthenthal is the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research (interim) at California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH).  He is also the Director of the Urban Community Research Center, a Professor in the Sociology Department at CSUDH, and a Senior Social Scientist with the RAND Corporation. His major research contributions have been in the areas of HIV epidemiology and prevention for drug injectors, racial/ethnic differences in alcohol consumption, consequences, and treatment outcomes, and community approaches to health promotion. Dr. Bluthenthal has published more than 75 studies in peer-reviewed scientific journals such as the American Journal of Public Health, Addiction, Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, Social Science and Medicine, and Health Services Research.
